The Captain Pre DJ: Truly weird mix in high school and college, kind of a geek jock. Raced bicycles, ran track, karate and fencing teams, played lots of chess, dungeons and dragons(early play tester), early computer games(wrote some simple ones) and basically was interested in everything. DJ bio: Started out as a late night DJ on Texas A&M’s college station playing pure vinyl album rock. Then did a stint as a radio news announcer at a local radio station and ended up doing live traffic reporting feeds to all the radio stations in Houston for a year. Post DJ: Ended up dropping out of college, joined the Army and became a radio specialist for Special Forces for 10 years where I completed my degrees(History and Physics). Went to officer candidate school, got my commission and switched to Military Intelligence Aviation. Spent a lot of time in Central America then finished up in Arizona. Last five years, I was the Commanding General’s IT subject matter expert and ran the MI website with over 968,000 pages. Finished my PhD (Religion) and retired to get a new job in IT. Started as a Mac only technician and ended up running all the servers at a private university where I run 64 servers (too kewl) and teach classes. Other stuff: Play chess, sail a lot (http://svseagate.us), teach sword fighting (fencing, kendo, medieval), computer games, bicycle racing (used to), hiking, and all aspects of Information Technology.
